Shining Hot Spring: A Sophisticated Residential House

Creating a Smart Home with Functionality and Aesthetics

"Shining Hot Spring," the interior design work of the hot spring residence, has a great view of the natural scenery of Beitou district. Designed by Ching Liu, this residential house aims to recreate the ambiance of hot spring clubs and intelligent houses experienced in Kyoto. The designer achieved this by incorporating a thermal flooring system, adjustable illuminations, and control panels.

The open-style public area of the house features extensive windows adorned with folding curtains, offering a sweeping view of the outdoor surroundings. The living room showcases a TV wall mounted with bricks resembling the textures of marbles, along with stylish leathers that bring out the reconciled charms of the distinguishing materials.

The space spans 132 square meters and is located in Taipei City, Taiwan. The project was completed in November 2018.

The compound styles integrating modern, Japanese, and European aesthetics adroitly make the sophisticated design ideas easy to appreciate. The distribution box is expertly concealed behind the leathers, while the ceiling adorned with glossy lines delineates the area boundary. Exquisite mouldings decorate the doors and cabinets, with sleek curves that disclose contemporary elegant attractions.

The kitchen and dining room, decorated with calm colors, wooden floors, and smooth furniture, exhibit Japanese-style affections. The island counter in the kitchen ensures flowing traffic flows, and the storage space is delicately obscured by a carved door that can be concealed by a painting, maintaining aesthetic completeness.

This residential plan was originally a roughcast house, but Ching Liu transformed its original partition and re-planned the layout to include a living room, kitchen, study room, one master bedroom, and two bedrooms. The interior is designed in a classic American style, with white as the main color tone to create a warm and elegant atmosphere. The porch features curved ceilings and a solid floral façade, a rare sight in American-style designs.

"Shining Hot Spring" was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 for its well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. This accolade recognizes the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
